2020 STRENGTH IN HEALING AWARDS

The entire Healing Black Women family recognizes that it takes a village to do this work that we call wellness. We want to acknowledge and applaud the hard work, effort, and dedication of the wellness village both individuals and organizations. To be considered for an Award, organizations and individuals may self-nominate or be nominated. 
Virtual awards ceremony will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 8PM/EST. 
Note: Healing Black Women Contributors are only eligible for the Healing Black Women Spirit of Excellence Award.

AWARDS

BEST NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION – This Award is presented to a Small Locally or Regionally based Nonprofit who has demonstrated excellence in serving their community and promoting wellness in various forms.
 
MOST INFLUENTIAL BLOGGER AWARD – This Award is presented a Blogger who has inspired others to take on wellness head on by using the power of their personal journey.
 
IN THE TRENCHES AWARD – This Award is presented to an Individual or Local Organization that the nominator feels has not received the accolades that they are due. However, the individual or local organization has demonstrated a commitment to promote wellness their community through grassroots efforts.

LGBTQ+ ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR AWARD – This Award is presented to a Member or Ally of the LGBTQ+ Community who has promoted equality, fairness, and/or human rights through both social media and community action.
 
SOCIAL JUSTICE ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR AWARD – This Award is presented to an Individual who has made strides to combat social issues such as racial injustices, local community violence, and/or police brutality or who has promoted methods to maintain wellness in the face of racial and/or generational trauma.
 
MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR AWARD – This Award is presented to an Individual who has shared their personal mental health journey to improve overall mental health within communities of color. This individual has demonstrated their commitment to mental wellness through both storytelling and actions while challenging the stigma that many living with mental health conditions face. 

BEST PODCAST AWARD – This Award is to presented to a Podcast Host, an individual or group of individuals, who have
demonstrated a commitment to their audience through the promotion of wellness.

HEALING BLACK WOMEN SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE AWARD – This Award is presented to a Healing Black Women Contributor who has inspired their community by demonstrating a commitment in the areas of wellness, social justice, and/or advocacy. Note: Only Healing Black Women Contributors are eligible for this Award.
