Nikki Roberson

Nikki N. Roberson is a mental health advocate and mother of a special needs son all while balancing life as a lupus warrior and managing depression. Nikki uses her voice and life experiences to advocate for mental health, autism awareness, and people living with chronic illnesses. Advocacy to her is empowering and hopes that she will be able to find the right words to share her story and let other black women know they are not alone in their journey.

Caregiving is known as a career that is rewarding and at the same time fulfilling. There are many challenges associated with being a caregiver, making it one of the toughest jobs. Although caregiving can have many rewards, it can still cause you much stress— emotional, mental, and physical stress. Caregiving is a long-term challenge that can take a toll on your health, life, relationships, and state of mind. This stress, if not addressed early on, will lead to burnout. When you get to that point, not only you, as a provider, will suffer but also your patient.
