As a 44-year-old anime girlie, seeing Megan Thee Stallion cosplay or watching KevOnStage entering his anime era makes my heart smile. For those who know me best, they know how crucial the world of anime has been to my life. Just like a long walk or maybe a favorite book, anime pulls me into a different realm and allows me to decompose, clear my head or focus.
The first anime I ever watched was Ronin Warriors back in 1988 followed by Gundam. As I got older, I was drawn in by Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Naruto to name a familiar few.  If I could describe their impact on my life, I would say they provided escape and later connection.
Anime is my ultimate go to self-care.  I’ve even been able to walk 1 to 2 miles daily by simply watching episodes of Hunter x Hunter exclusively when I hop on the treadmill.  So if you are wondering what all the fuss is about anime, here are 20 in random order of what I enjoy watching. What are you watching right now? Help your fellow anime girlies build out their watch list.

  1. Nana
  2. Black Clover
  3. Fruit Basket
  4. Black Bulter
  5. Hunter x Hunter
  6. JoJo Bizarre Adventure
  7. Baki
  8. Fairy Tale
  9. The Case Study of Vanitas
  10. Link Click
  11. Erased
  12. That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime
  13. Death Note
  14. Assassination Classroom
  15. Code Geass
  16. Noragami
  17. Zombie Land Saga
  18. The Saints Magic Power is Omnipotent
  19. Danganronpa
  20. Sailor Moon
BONUS - Gintama

This article is dedicated in memory of Akira Toriyama, Manga Artist and Creator of Dragon Ball Z.
